REMS

Resource Entitlement Management System (REMS)

REMS (Resource Entitlement Management System) is a tool for managing access rights to resources, most importantly scientific datasets. A researcher can fill in a data access application which REMS then circulates to the dataser owner (or his/her representative(s)) for review and approval. REMS provides also necessary reporting functionality and the integrations to the dataset catalogue (for dataset metadata import to REMS) and the Policy Enforcement Point (for enforcing the access rights granted on REMS).

REMS has been originally developed for the ELIXIR research infrastructure for life sciences, but it is discipline-independent and in use also e.g. in linguistics and social sciences.

For more information, see the REMS leaflet (pdf)
